Meta, the Facebook’s parent company made headlines yet again by introducing the latest addition to its portfolio i.e. Threads App. There’s a saying that goes “A picture is worth a thousand words” – similar to this proverb, the Threads App name suggests all about it. Its a real-time public forum where you can start a new conversation or find updates on contemporary affairs.

The platform is similar to Elon Musk’s Twitter app. Ever since the launch of Threads App, Tesla’s pioneer has shown strong backlash by calling Threads app an attack on Twitter’s intellectual property. However, the users are of a different opinion and that is justifiable. Since twitter isn’t registered as a patent by Elon Musk, hence he cannot blame Meta for producing Threads app (somewhat similar to Twitter).

Threads is a cross platform application and it has already hit 10 million users as per Mark. By this unprecedented reach one can simply guess the popularity of Meta’s products among users around the globe. But Musk doesn’t seem much impressed by the platform and in his response he tweeted:

Talk about the numbers game, as per the records of SEC filing, the number of subscribers that Threads app made in a single day – the same was achieved by Twitter in almost 4 years. So, meta is clearly winning the numbers game here.

Speaking of Twitter’s plan to file lawsuit against Meta for copyrights infringement and stealing the ideas, Twitter attorney Alex Spiro issued a letter to Mark Zuckerberg on 5th of July, accusing Meta of “systematic, wilful, and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property” to create Threads.

Mr. Spiro is of the opinion that Meta had hired a few ex-twitter employees and that led Meta to develop Threads app and calls it an attack on Twitter’s intellectual property. However, there is no law that forbids a company to hire some ex-employees of another firm (unless there is an explicit agreement among both parties).
